Introducing Team Evaluations

April 09, 2012

We are really excited about the first step on a new path for our evaluations that will take place next Sunday, the 15th of April. We will be evaluating the NorCal Patriots' program on that Sunday during one of their practices. It should be a great day.

The evaluation will have several aspects to it. We will attend a practice and watch the players play. Following that, we will put all the players through our ODM (OnDeck Measurements) in order to evaluate their Speed, Agility, Bat Velocity, and Throwing Velocity. We will also spend some time answering any questions the players, the coaches, or the parents might have about the recruiting process. Following this personal evaluation, we will:

  • Provide each player with a evaluation giving them our opinion on where they stand right now – from a National Perspective – and what they need to work on in order to improve.
  • Send out a “NorCal Patriots Gold Team Evaluation” that will go out to the 120+ Division 1 programs with whom we work.
  • Calculate their ODM rating which gives them an idea of where they stand athletically against athletes across the country.
  • Put the players into the pool of players from which we draw players for our invitation-only events.

We think this is just going to be a great experience for ourselves and the NorCal Patriots program. Certainly, it is going to allow us to closely evaluate these young players and have a better feel for their abilities, and to get their names in front of a wide variety of college programs across the country. It should be a lot of fun.
