The 2015 Chicago Jamboree completed a very successful Summer season of OnDeck recruiting events and provided another group of outstanding young players the opportunity to showcase their skill sets and their athleticism in front of a large college coaching audience.  The Chicago Jamboree which has become a mainstay of the Summer recruiting circuit was held in Glen Ellyn, IL at Ackerman Park on July 8th.  Bill Conroy's and Gerry Quinn's excellent DeMarini Invitational is connected to our event and features quality teams from across the country.  It was great to see the Rhode Island Thunder, the TX Sudden Impact, CA Batbuster, Briggs, GA East Cobb Bullets, and many others.  It also allowed Joann and I to catch up with Brentt Eads from FloSoftball.  Brentt is one of the nicest people in the game and does so much to help so many young players.  It is always good to see him whenever our paths cross.  This Jamboree and Showcase are some of our favorite days in the calendar year, and it is always great to get out to the Windy City.

We had some very nice performances. Young Ryleigh White had a breakout day and wowed virtually every coach in attendance with her pitching talent and potential.  Ryleigh is going to be a major level recruit in the years to come.  Hailey Raio showed why she is one of the most promising recruits in the country as a catcher.  Hailey has a true cannon for an arm, and she is one of the few catchers we have seen this year who can legitimately shut down the running game.  And Kiley Robb displayed the athleticism, size, speed and skill set that will surely translate into a meaningful career at whichever school she chooses to attend.  The players as a whole did a very nice job competing, and we will be anxious to follow their progress thru the recruiting landscape.

While we always try to caution players and parents about reading too much into these numbers, it would be wrong to minimize them as well.  These measurements, which we first introduced to the softball world 4 years ago, are becoming increasingly important to the college coaching community.  There is no question in our minds that two years from now, the Allister Index will be a standardized measurement that every serious softball player in the country possesses and works to improve upon 3-4 times a year.  It is becoming a major part of our Report that goes out across the country.
