The 2015 June Jamboree held at Diamond Valley Sports Complex in Hemet, CA. When we walked away from our June Jamboree, the general feeling was that the day had been one of the best events we had ever produced. Joann and I thought the talent level was exceedingly high, and I remember commenting at the time that I thought the players held up well. That is one of my greatest worries every time we have a Jamboree or National Elite Camp. We get nervous for the players - hoping they will show the skills and athleticism that we had seen at an earlier point in time. Well, the players held up very well. The venue was PACKED with college coaches. We think it was the greatest single day turnout of college coaches in our history. The weather was SUPERB. John Cookson and the Minor's Gold people put on their usual great lunch. Basically, it could not have been more perfect.
As I wrapped up the last Evaluation, I went back and reviewed the notes we had on every player in the Jamboree. All I can say is WOW! The high quality of talent was remarkable, and never have we had so many "older" players who are so very good. Just as remarkable was the younger set of players who are 7th and 8th graders. Without question, there were players in Hemet last Friday who are going to be college All-Americans someday. Now usually I mention some very special performances . . . but I am going to pass on that. We had SO MANY great performances, I could not possibly list them all here. But I would like to congratulate the players who came to Hemet and made this one of the greatest days in OnDeck Softball history. Joann and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Once again, congrats to all those players in Hemet who made the 2015 June Jamboree so special. To everyone out there, take care and best wishes for the days ahead.
