We held our first Atlanta Tryout, April 8th in between the rain storms and just had a blast seeing some very good players workout.  This was our first Tryout in this area, and we think it will become an important Tryout due to the growth of the sport in Georgia.  The South has become a hotbed of softball talent in recent years.  Some of the organizations are starting to garner national recognition to go along with those traditional Georgia powers - the Georgia Impact, the EC Bullets, and the Atlanta Vipers.  The rise of the SEC in softball and the intensity this region brings to the college game will surely only help the travel ball community grow and develop increasingly large numbers of talented players.  The next few years will only continue to see the softball spotlight trained increasingly on this region of the country.

In the morning session, we had some great performances highlighted by the stellar play of Jessica Morgan, Sarah Womack, Kelly Schmidt, Alia Booth, and Kassidy Krupit.  Jessica Morgan is simply the real deal, and already we are getting inquiries from college programs about her based on our evaluation of her here. Sarah Womack oozes with power potential at the plate.  Kelly Schmidt is flying WAY UNDER THE RADAR right now and would be a steal for many programs out there.  Alia Booth is coming off an injury that limited her exposure last year, but that won't hold back this talented young lady for long.  And Kassidy Krupit is simply an irrepressible force that will be a valuable asset to whichever school she settles on in the years ahead.

In the afternoon, we were pleasantly surprised to see a Tampa Mustang player. And oh how happy we were when the Tryout was over!  2020 hitter Avery Goelz is a talented young lady, with natural strength and maturity, this girl is going to be a good player in the years to come.  She is smooth defensively, and she has a sweet stroke that will surely impress many college scouts in the summer ahead.

From this Tryout, we will be inviting the following group to move on to one or more of our events this Summer.  We will be inviting these young ladies to both the Oklahoma Jamboree and the Colorado National Jamboree. The Colorado Natonal Jamboree is one of the premier recruting events in the country.  Needless to say, we are excited to get all of them in front of as many schools as possible.

Congrats to the following group:

Alia Booth
Avery Goelz
Anna  Hutchinson
Kassidy Krupit
Taegan  Lewellen
Hannah Morgan
Jessica  Morgan
Josie Robertson
Kelly  Schmidt
Sarah Womack

Thank you to all those who helped make this Tryout so incredibly successful.

As always, I like to remind players and parents that these are just numbers and nothing more  While the raw athleticsim is extremely important, players still have to field it, throw it, hit it, pitch it, and catch it if they are going to be effective players at any level.  It is our hope that you all will look at these numbers and figure out what you need to work on simply to become a better athlete in the years ahead.
