We had a great time at the Sacramento Tryout held at Sheldon High School. We want to thank Lindsey Ziegenhirt and the rest of the Lady Magic group for helping us get through the day. Lindsey appeared in one of our first National Camps back in Las Vegas, and we have highly valued her friendship thru the years. We have to say it is great to see former OnDeck players getting back in the game and giving back to the game.
On to the Tryout, we had some excellent performances. Maia Rader, Brylynn Vallejos, and Maggie Joseph were all superb. We will be excited to get them in front of the college coaching community where they can display their talents. There were several others who performed very well and will be guaranteed a spot moving forward. However, for those who didn’t quite make it, this is a process that unfolds at different rates for different players, continue to work hard in pursuing your goal of becoming a college softball player. We hope to see you all in the very near future.
Here are the players that were selected. If you are invited to the NorCal Jamboree and can't make it, we will invite you to another Jamboree in the year to come.
While we always try to caution players and parents about reading too much into these numbers, it would be wrong to minimize them as well. These measurements, which we first introduced to the softball world 4 years ago, are becoming increasingly important to the college coaching community. There is no question in our minds that two years from now, the Allister Index will be a standardized measurement that every serious softball player in the country possesses and works to improve upon 3-4 times a year. It is becoming a major part of our Report that goes out across the country.
