We had a great time with the first-ever Kansas City Tryout held at Hartman Park in Lee Summit, MO. We have to give thanks to Shelly Rampestreiter who facilitated this event for us, and we would be remiss in not mentioning the help offered by Rob Wade and the excellent fungo work of Matt Windle and the pitching of Jenna Munoz. We couldn't have done all this without their help, and we really appreciate them.
We had some outstanding performances by some of the players in attendance. Ally Vonfeldt, Brooke Doumer, and Kenzie Young are certainly going to be high level recruits when all is said and done. Vonfeldt is an excellent catcher with good tools. Doumer showed real skills in the OF and a very good offensive game. And Young is a 2016 who might be slipping through the cracks a bit, but will surely be one to watch in this summer ahead. Along with these three, we saw many others who will certainly catch the eye of the college coaching community in the very near future. So, here are the players we are guaranteeing a spot in one of our Recruting Events this year. Congrats to these young ladies -
For those who were not selected, we hope you will remember that this whole journey is a process, and the process is never complete until the day you give up the game. Keep working hard, and we hope to see you in the near future.
While these numbers are gaining increasing importance in the college coaches' decisions, we hope everyone will remember that these numbers are . . . well, just numbers. You still have to have the skill set that allows you to play at the college level. These numbers can show a player's strengths and weaknesses from an athletic standpoint. And as our son, KJ, likes to say, "make your weaknesses a strength, and then look for another weakness to work on." So please take them as one part of a much larger puzzle.
