We want to start by thanking Bill Judge, who each year helps us with this tryout. The Stuart Sports Complex is a beautiful park with quality fields that have been well maintained.
As for the tryout itself, players came from all over – and I mean that literally. While we had some familiar travel ball teams in attendance, but we also had two sisters from the Philippines who play for the Asia Pacific Team. These two young ladies, 2021 Alex Romero-Salas and 2023 Sathia Romero-Salas, are athletic and talented. Both have a chance to be solid players if they keep working and training. Along with the sisters, we had several other notable performances. 2020 Payton Wuske, who plays for the Sparks, combines the size, skill set, and athleticism that college coaches crave. 2022 Ava Paganis from the Midwest Machine, is strong with a solid skill set, and it is only a matter of time before it all comes together. And finally 2022 Indiana Gator Alaina Miller; a very skilled defender who can also really swing the bat.
As with all our Tryouts, we want to remind both parents and players that the recruiting process is a journey that unfolds differently for every player. Be patient and let the process work and a good decision will ultimately be made. If you weren't selected, don't be discouraged, we would like to see how you progress and improve. Listed below are the players selected. All players are getting invitations to the Chicago Jamboree and the invitations will be sent June 17th. If you would rather to attend the Colorado Jamboree or didn't receive the invitation, please email us. They are also just a portion of the Tryout selection process, for more information read Your Tryout & ODM Numbers. Use these numbers as a tool and work at developing your athleticism, but constantly work on improving and refining your softball skill set – both offensively and defensively.
