The 14th annual West Coast Elite Camp wrapped up after some great performances from a long list of players in the 2019–2022 classes. It was absolutely picture perfect and the facility at CSN is only two years old and is beautiful. So with a great venue, gorgeous weather, and a superb roster of players, the camp turned out to be everything the large contingent of college coaches could ask for.

Coaches from the Pac 12, the SEC, the Big 10, the Big 12, the ACC, and many others squeezed themselves into tables directly behind the backstop, sat in the shade of the press box, or set up shop in the press box that overlooked home plate. They were greeted by some tremendous hitting performances, some outstanding defensive play, and some excellent pitching.  There were far too many performances to recount here, but we have to mention a few.

Taylor Caudill (2020 Pitcher, Monarchs) and Dee Dee Hernandez (2021 Pitcher, Panthers) both showed excellent command during the bullpen and live hitting, they just keep getting better everytime we see them play. Destinee Noury (2020 SS/2B, OC Batbusters), Maddie Moore (2021 SS/3B, Lady Magic) and Austin Germain (2021 SS/3B, Texas Blaze)  showed why they are considered three of the best players in the country. And a trio of SoCal 2022 athletes – Ailana Agbayani (2022 2B/SS OC Batbuster)Trinity Brandon (2022 2B/SS Corona Angel), and Emily Jones (2022 SS/OF Firecrackers-Redmond) turned in excellent performances and are sure be highly recruited players when their time comes two years from now.

Hannah Hughbanks (2019 1B/OF, OC Batbusters) had the coaches buzzing with questions as to why she remains uncommitted. An excellent student with one of the sweetest swings you will see just hasn’t found the perfect school quite yet. But that will surely change in the weeks ahead. Chloe Doyle (2020, C/3B Colorado Stars) was a big surprise right out of the gate. Chloe has a beautiful swing and will hit for average and power at the next level. She is also very good defensively behind the plate and at 3B. Riley Grigsby (2020 SS/2B AASA) and Johnna Schroeder (2021 SS/2B Batbusters Gomes) were both superb with the bat and the glove. Both these NorCal athletes deserve to be looked at by every school in the country. Maddie Erickson (2022 P/SS Oregon Bat Company) pitches, hits, and plays well on the dirt caught the eye of many power 5 schools. Maddie was excellent in the circle during live pitching, combining solid velocity (63 MPH) with good spin and control. She is also strong, durable, and athletic. And finally Avery Weisbrook (2022 SS/3B Ohana Tigers) showed the grit, determination, skill set, and athleticism that are going to make her a star at the next level if she keeps working on her game.

Thank you to all the players and families who traveled to the Las Vegas area for this very important day of recruiting. We will be anxious to follow the progress of all the players who put in a long day and played so well.
