The Monday session was another day of great softball, one of our favorite aspects of this Jamboree is the back-to-back days. Naturally, there is great anticipation as we head into the Sunday session, and that anticipation and joy get extended over the course of two days and that makes us all very happy.

The level of play for the  Monday session was exceedingly high. There were excellent performances from a variety of players in all classes. Right out of the gate, we have to mention 2023 Mia Williams, a phenom out of Florida who is simply amazing. If this kid works and develops over the next 6 years, she is surely going to be one of the top players in the country. Her teammates, Kayla Alexandre and Jesiana Mora, are also talented and will be highly recruited.

2018 and 2019 classes – showed very well on this day. 2018 infielder Macy Baccay put on a show defensively. She is absolutely legit with the glove and her offense is coming fast. Madison Bogdanovich, Lauren Cowans, and Kennedy Labshere were all high level 2018s and in this day and age, it is amazing that these four players are still available, but it is great for all those schools looking for talent in this class. There is a minimum of guesswork when it comes to these four. Verbal and 8th grader and you’re rolling the dice. Take one of these four and you know what you’re getting.

The 2019 group was LOADED with hitters and there are far too many to list here. This was one of the best rising Junior groups we have had in a Jamboree in a long time. In talking to an assistant coach, I was asked about 2019s. My reply was “you should have been in Aurora on Monday!” Many excellent players are still available in this class, and we know many top tier programs who are still looking. Hope Alley was great both offensively and defensively. Brittany Bye is a legit hitter who will hit in the middle of her college line-up all four years. Madison Carlock has superb mechanics and will hit for average and power at the next level. Kylie Cox will do the same. Anna Jensen and Madison Meduna are both OF who will hit in the middle of their college line-ups. Carolyn Skotz is a bomber who will produce power numbers in the years ahead. Adelai Winkelman can simply swing the bat. And Makana Morton, who has grown over 5 inches in the last year, just kept hitting it out in live BP. We were counting them off as she launched pitch after pitch deep into the grassy area behind the fence. There were many others who also showed very, very well. It would behoove all college programs to take a long, long look at these young ladies who have mature games that will translate well to the next level.

The 2020 group was good. Catcher, Ashley Donaldson, is as close to a lock for being an impact player as a college freshman as there can be. The kid is just a player. She is talented and can play in most D-1 programs in this country. Makayla Rice is also a superb behind the plate, an excellent defender and solid hitter. Molly Dickerson, Angela Price, Sydney Gray, and Emily Price also played very, very well.

Pitcher, Savannah Evans stood out from the crowd throughout the day. She has good velocity and excellent spin. Sometimes you just see players who are different from others...well Savannah is one of those. Marissa Vazquez, McKenzie Clemens, Taylor Caudill, Tyler Denhart, Lacie Ham, and CJ Baxter all should good potential as pitchers. We were very pleased with the depth of pitchers and catchers for this session.

Thank you to all the players for making this a successful Jamboree. We look forward to seeing you again soon and make sure to keep us updated on your progess and recruitment.

Please remember that the ODM numbers, while growing increasingly important, are only a snapshot of a player’s evaluation and potential. Use these numbers as a tool and work at developing your athleticism, but constantly work on improving and refining your softball skill set – both offensively and defensively.
