Our 3rd annual East Coast National Elite Camp proved to be the best collection of talent we have had at Georgia Gwinnett College. Each year, the talent level has steadily increased, but this year we had at least 10 players who can play at any of the major schools across the country and another 15 who will certainly play in one of the top 50 RPI schools if they so choose.
It was a great two days, and we want to thank all those who helped us. Obviously, we owe a lot to Coach Kat Ihlenburg and her staff for providing so much support. Their facility is absolutely first-class. We could never ask for a better venue. Also, we have to thank Rocky Thompson for his high level fungo work, and Sara Moulton for her BP. Both are superb in what they do.
As for the players, we had some outstanding performances. In the group of young players, 2020s Claire Davidson, Melody Coombs, Olivia Guindon, Sara Beth Allen, and Avery Goelz all showed off their high level of talent. 2019s Kendall Jennings and Sarah Carlton proved that they will be two of the best players in the country in this class. 2018s Jaycie Michael and Rachel Becker are very good players who should be highly recruited throughout the East Coast and Midwest. And finally, Sophia Ehlers and Anne Miller are two 2017s who while running under the radar a bit right now should prove to be excellent players at the next level. Many others also showed that they will be highly coveted before it is all said and done, and we were pleased with the efforts of the entire group.
