First, we would like to apologize that this information is just getting posted. I had a review typed up and posted, but using the wifi on the plane home from Vegas was spotty. So I would like to thank Ted for notifying me that it wasn't posted. It has given me more time to reflect on the Fall Jamboree and realize what a great day it truly was.

During a time where nothing is certain, we are all very thankful for the Fall Jamboree. We want to thank all the players, their parents, and coaches for attending and doing so safely. To be able to have 66 players on three fields for the Jamboree, coupled with the Surf City Tournament happening the rest of the weekend, felt similar to Fall 2019.

As for the Jamboree, we had a good group of players...far too many to mention, but some that need to be highlighted. 2022 P/UT Hazyl Gray was an absolute stand out. She is athletic and strong, with a very refined skill set. She can hit, pitch, and play defense and she does it all very well. 2022 1B Ella Hoyle just keeps getting better every time we see her. 2022 SS Taegan Smith has a solid overall skill set paired with great athleticism (100.97 Allister Index). 2024 SS/3B Sydney Boulaphinh is a power hitter with a refined defensive skill set.

We appreciate all the hard work these players have put in over the last 8 months. It hasn’t been easy to train and get the work in they needed to continue to develop their game. We want to encourage you all to keep up the hard work. We see it. Your parents and coaches see it. And college coaches see it.

We also want to thank PGF/Surf City for continuing to put on a great tournament, while keeping our health and safety in mind. A special shout out to our 13 players that joined our team to play in the tournament. It is not a simple task to just go out and play together, without practicing or knowing each other. Louie and Heather really enjoyed meeting all the players and parents. It was a great weekend, even if it was incredibly cold!

Looking forward to the future, we want to wish you all happy holidays. Stay safe and healthy.

Please remember that the ODM numbers, while growing increasingly important, are only a snapshot of a player’s evaluation and potential. Use these numbers as a tool and work at developing your athleticism, but constantly work on improving and refining your softball skill set – both offensively and defensively. These numbers have also been posted to your profile.
