The second Midwest Elite camp consisted of 66 athletes in the 2019-2022 classes having the chance to workout and play in front of a large contingent of college coaches from the Big 10, the SEC, and the ACC along with many others from the Sunbelt, Conference USA, the Big East, the Horizon, the Mid-American, the Ohio Valley, the Big South, and the Missouri Valley. The event continues to show signs that it is and will continue to be a major recruiting stop each Fall. We want to thank Bill Conroy (Beverly Bandits} and Gerry Quinn (Chill) for all their support, without their help, we could never accomplish all that we do in this region of the country.

As for the camp itself, we had a number of outstanding performances. The entire group made an impression hitting the ball. Several coaches commented on how many hitters there were throughout the day. The Bandits and the Chill are already well known for their outstanding talent. Yet a number of other top programs were represented well and showed the depth of talent in this region. Julia Crenshaw (2021 SS/2B, St. Louis Chaos) and Sydney Carter (2021 SS/2B Ohio Hawks) – battled it out in Group 1. Both players are superb and two of the best in their class nationally! Also from the St. Louis Chaos, 2021s Calista Collins and Jane Kaniecki, impressed everyone. Collins is a power hitter who will also hit for average and is going to be a major recruit a year from now. And Kaniecki just continues to play superbly both offensively and defensively. Anna Streff (2022 SS/UT, Iowa Premier) is legit both offensively and defensively; as well as an outstanding student. Maggie Murphy (2021 SS/1B, Michigan Finesse) and Kelsey Nader (2022 OF/UT, Michigan Finesse) were superb throughout the day. Nader is a high level player who will have many options two years from now.

Finally, we want to mention three players who just finished high school ball and made their way up to the camp from Oklahoma. Ashtyn Barrett and Aynslee Linduff (2022s OK Impact Gold) are going to be major players in the state over the next few years and they continue to impress with their high level play. Emma Rote (2021 P, OK Diamond Girls) is tall and athletic. A power pitcher whose velocity consistently touches the mid 60s.

Thanks to all the families, players, and coaches who made this camp so special. With the Fall almost finished, we will start getting ready for an exciting year next year. Our advice to everyone is to take some time off, begin working on getting better (as opposed to just playing), and continue to get your ODM® baseline scores and work on your athleticism.

Please remember that the ODM numbers, while growing increasingly important, are only a snapshot of a player’s evaluation and potential. Use these numbers as a tool and work at developing your athleticism, but constantly work on improving and refining your softball skill set – both offensively and defensively.
