We want to start by thanking all the players and parents for being a part of our first Scenic City Jamboree. We also want to thank Jill and Jeremy Higgdon with Connect Sports and the Fury, for inviting us to be a part of the tournament. We look forward to growing a cultivating this Jamboree for years to come.
It was a hot day and the players worked really hard. We could tell every single player has worked hard on her game and really loves to play. We had a solid group with players that could hit, defend, and pitch. Here are a few we would like to highlight.
2023 SS/OF Joscelyn Bennett had a good day. She is strong, quick and very good defensively. We can’t wait to follow her recruiting this summer.
2024 Lizzie Kern is an exceptional outfielder with all the tools to make her a high level player. She is fast, has a big arm and can really swing the bat.
2025s Ashlin Mowery and Piper White will catch the eye of many coaches over the next year or two. Ashlin is a tall, athletic pitcher that brings it in the mid 60s. She is aggressive at the plate and defensively at 3B. Piper is rock solid defensively as an outfield and at shortstop.
2027 Aspen Boulware is already creating a buzz. Showing a high level of athleticism for her age. She runs a 4.552 shuttle. Can throw it 65 mph. And has a pop time of 1.94 that will only improve. Aspen’s softball skill set is well beyond her age as well. She can hit, defend at SS and is very good behind the plate.
We are excited to see how each players journey unfolds and look forward to following them through their careers. We also want to thank Julie Joseforsky and the Ohio Hawks. Her players brought a ton of energy and fun to the day. They are all solid players as well.
Please remember that the ODM numbers, while growing increasingly important, are only a snapshot of a player’s evaluation and potential. Use these numbers as a tool and work at developing your athleticism, but constantly work on improving and refining your softball skill set – both offensively and defensively.
