We had a great time in Arizona for this fall Tryout. Randy Kaye and the AZ Firecracker organization hosted the event, and we appreciate their help throughout the two days. Despite the heat, the young ladies worked and competed, all these girls have my utmost respect for their toughness and resiliency. In fact, they impressed me so much that I am going to be writing a Blog about them. The bottom line is we had some excellent performances from this very, very young group, and a surprisingly large group will be moving forward in the year ahead. Here are the players who will be guaranteed an invitation sometime in the next year to one of our recruiting events:
There are a number of other young players who we will be anxious to follow in the year ahead. Thank you to all the players and parents who attended this tryout event.
Please remember that these numbers are only on part of a very complicated, and much larger puzzle. These ODM Numbers offer a snapshot of a player's softball athleticism. We hope players, parents, and coaches will look at these numbers as an indication of where improvements can be made from an athletic standpoint. Every young player still has to be able to catch it, throw it, and hit it, if she wants to be a good player. The combination of a player's skill set plus her athleticism is the measure of a player's potential at the next level.
