We had a good group of players for this Tryout. The last few years we have had persistent rain issues, and this weekend was no exception. Thankfully, JB Slimp offered us his indoor facility – the Austin Fastpitch Academy. As a result, we were able to successfully complete the day and identify potential players for the Colorado National Jamboree and the Atlanta Legacy Jamboree.
We had several young pitchers who showed very well. 2019s Victoria McCann and Kailey Brown were impressive. Katie Cimusz and Kate Repa also showed the solid offensive and defensive skill sets that will lead to them being interesting prospects.
As with all our Tryouts, we want to remind both parents and players that the recruiting process is a journey that unfolds differently for every player. Be patient and let the process work and a good decision will ultimately be made.
Listed below are the selected players the Jamboree they are guaranteed an invited to, either the Atlanta Legacy Jamboree or the Colorado Jamboree. Invitations will be sent by June 2nd. If there is different Jamboree you are interested in attending, please email us, but there are no guarantees. Please remember that the ODM numbers, while growing increasingly important, are only a snapshot of a player’s evaluation and potential. They are also just a portion of the Tryout selection process, for more information read Your Tryout & ODM Numbers. Use these numbers as a tool and work at developing your athleticism, but constantly work on improving and refining your softball skill set – both offensively and defensively. For the younger players, please look at this as a baseline and what to start working on, as you grow and get stronger and quicker these numbers will improve.
