What a difference a week makes! The San Diego Tryout was rained out on January 31st, but we rescheduled for the next weekend. And on February 6th we had a bright and beautiful San Diego day! We want to thank the Power Surge organization for hosting us and helping us out. It is always great to see the Power Surge people who are simply some of the nicest people in the game.
As for the Tryout, we enjoyed seeing the kids perform. First, we want to mention a few young kids who had great days. 2019 Alexis Parker just continues to get better each time we see her. The girl can really play in the OF, and it is just a matter of time before she blossoms. 2021 athlete Cydney Sanders had a remarkable performance and will be highly recruited in the very near future. And young Samantha Fontaine showed a skill set that will certainly carry her to greater heights over the next 4 years.
We want to thank all the players and parents who came to this event. As always, we want to remind everyone that this entire process is exactly that...a process. Players will continue to get better if they work on improving both the fundamentals of their games and their general athleticism. Every player blossoms at a different point in time, and we hope you will have the patience to allow the process to work.
Listed below are the players and the Jamborees they will be invited to, the June Jamboree and Colorado Jamboree invitations will be sent early March. UPDATED: NorCal Jamboree and Arizona Jamboree invitations will be sent by mid June, we are waiting on an update to our website prior to issuing new invitations. Please remember that the ODM numbers, while growing increasingly important, are only a snapshot of a player’s real potential. For a player to reach her true potential, she has to work at developing her athletic potential, but constantly work on developing and refining her softball skill set – both offensively and defensively.
