We want to start by thank all the players and parents who joined us for this tryout, it was a lot of fun. We had great weather. We were at a solid facilty, Ackerman Park, where the Chicago Jamboree is held. And we had some really good players.
As for the tryout, there are a few players
we want to mention. 2025 RHP, Sydney Rainford is going to catch the eye of many coaches this summer. She throws it 66mph effortlessly, with solid location and good movement. 2026 RHPs, Jaydin Kiser and Hunter Lewis, both threw in the low 60s and show real promise in the circle.
2024 2B, McKenzie Culvey was excellent defensively. 2026 Kennedy Christopher showed range and solid glove skills. Both are good contact hitters with some gap power.
We want to encourage the players to keep working and refining their defensive skill set. We saw speed, strength, and athleticism; but the softball skill set needs to keep improving. Overall with the younger players, keep working and in the next year most will be ready for a summer Jamboree.
Listed below are the players selected and the invitations they are guaranteed. It is important to know that all players were considered for all Jamborees. The Colorado Jamboree and Chicago Jamboreee invitations have been sent. If you weren't selected, we need to see you play again in the next year. Please send us your travel ball schedule and keep us updated on game times. All invitations are sent via email to the address provided in registration, unless otherwise requested. Please remember that the ODM numbers, while growing increasingly important, are only a snapshot of a player’s evaluation and potential. They are also just a portion of the Tryout selection process, for more information read Your Tryout & ODM Numbers. Use these numbers as a tool and work at developing your athleticism, but constantly work on improving and refining your softball skill set – both offensively and defensively.
These numbers have also been posted to your profile. An Allister Index is not given with Tryout ODM numbers.
Player evaluations were available until July 6th. If you are interested in purchasing an evaluation email us at info@ondecksoftball.net
