First and foremost, we want to thank all the players and parents for attending the Dallas Tryout. It was a cold morning, but the players hung in there and we got a really good look at them. Hebron High School is a great facility and we are thankful to them for hosting us.
There were some solid standouts, both offensively and defensively, too many to mention here. Some of the younger players we will keep our eye on and look forward to seeing again soon. 2019's Bailey Brenek (C/3B) and Tristyn Hamilton had a good day overall. 2022 Rylee Cloud (3B/OF) was great with the glove and shows real potential offensively. 2024 Sa'Mya Jones has great potential not only as a pitcher, but in the infield and offensively.
As with all our Tryouts, we want to remind both parents and players that the recruiting process is a journey that unfolds differently for every player. Be patient and let the process work and a good decision will ultimately be made. If you weren't selected, don't be discouraged, we would like to see how you progress and improve. Please remember that the ODM numbers, while growing increasingly important, are only a snapshot of a player’s evaluation and potential. Use these numbers as a tool and work at developing your athleticism, but constantly work on improving and refining your softball skill set – both offensively and defensively.
