We started off the Tryout season with a bang. The Bat Company is an excellent organization run by Scott Ackerman and Michelle Thiery. It was exciting to be back in Portland and give the players in the area the opportunity NOT to travel to Seattle or California! Obviously, one of the premier travel ball programs in the country hails from this area – the Northwest Bullets. As everyone knows, the NW Bullets compete at the highest level nationally, and it is our belief that players in this area and the rest of the Northwest are very deserving of the exposure we can provide them.
It was cold but dry day. We caught a break and got to do the infield and outfield workout outside, as well as run the 10-20-40 yard sprint. We even had blue sky for a brief time which was awesome.
We had some really nice performances that need to be mentioned here. 2024 pitcher Addisen Fisher is a tall, young athletic pitcher that gets it up to 63 MPH and has very nice mechanics. She nailed her spots and throws a heavy drop. 2024s Delaney Hoyle and Lily Riley were also impressive in the circle. As usual, there appears to be solid pitching talent up here year in and year out. 2021s Natasha Stubbs and Zoe Allen are solid athletically, and both have games that will translate well to the next level. And finally one last player that needs to be mentioned here is 2022 Sophia Honse. Sophia continues to improve in the circle and quite simply can hit it a ton.
We want to thank all the players and parents who joined us for this tryout, it was a lot of fun. If you were not selected, please don't be discouraged. Listed below are the players selected and the invitations they are guaranteed. It is important to know that players were considered for Jamborees and Elite Camps. The Huntington Beach Jamboree and Colorado Jamboree invitations will be sent January 24th and the Fall Jamboree invitations will be sent August 7th. All invitations are sent via email to the address provided in registration, unless otherwise requested. Please add info@ondecksoftball.net to your contacts to ensure you get the invitation.

Please remember that the ODM numbers, while growing increasingly important, are only a snapshot of a player’s evaluation and potential. They are also just a portion of the Tryout selection process, for more information read Your Tryout & ODM Numbers. Use these numbers as a tool and work at developing your athleticism, but constantly work on improving and refining your softball skill set – both offensively and defensively.
These numbers have also been posted to your profile. An Allister Index is not given with Tryout ODM numbers.
