A big thank you has to be given to Scott Berndess and the Power Surge for all their help every year with this Tryout. Scott is a fixture in San Diego softball and is one of the kindest people in the game. His desire to help players and families from all organizations is truly remarkable. We can’t thank him enough for his generosity and kindness.

We also want to thank three very special people helped us. Kristen Gensler, who was an all-conference outfielder at USD, and Noelle Johnson, one of the greatest pitchers/hitters in Utah State history, both handled the fungo, front toss, and live BP. It is always great to see have them there. We also had Palomar College’s starting catcher and former OnDeck camper, Kendall Kates. She is fielding offers from several different D-1 programs right now. It will be exciting to see where she lands after her final season at Palomar.

And now for the tryout, it was a really a great day. We had a sell-out crowd of players ranging from seniors in high school to 7th graders. The level of play was good, and we will be anxious to follow all these players in the years ahead. We want to mention several outstanding performances here. As usual, there are too many players to cover in such a short format, but a number stood out.

2022 left-handed pitcher/hitter Jordyn Dulken was excellent. Jordyn has a beautiful swing and showed high end potential in the circle and the outfield. She is without question a solid D-1 player. 2023 Kanisha Anderson, a quick athlete who excelled offensively and in the OF.

A large group of 2024s were exceptional as well. Nalia Nuanez (MI), Callie Christian (P/Inf), Susanna Pate (MI), Isabella Mertes (3B), Addison Duke (MI), Skye Williams (MI), and Irie Iapala (MI) all are exciting players with bright futures. And finally, 2025's Camrynn Gordon and Kelly Whelihan. Both will be high level recruits if they continue to work on their games.

We want to thank all the players and parents who joined us for this tryout, it was a lot of fun. If you were not selected, please don't be discouraged. We want to see you play again and we will be out scouting games during the spring and summer. Please keep us updated on your tournament and game schedules and email them to info@ondecksoftball.net

Please remember that the ODM numbers, while growing increasingly important, are only a snapshot of a player’s evaluation and potential. They are also just a portion of the Tryout selection process, for more information read Your Tryout & ODM Numbers. Use these numbers as a tool and work at developing your athleticism, but constantly work on improving and refining your softball skill set – both offensively and defensively.

These numbers have also been posted to your profile. An Allister Index is not given with Tryout ODM numbers.
