We want to thank Mike Moreno for helping facilitate this tryout. His support and assistance mean a lot to us.

The Bay Area tryout is particularly close to our hearts because this is where the Tryout system got started almost a decade ago! In an attempt to see more players and get thorough evaluations, we had an idea and we went for it. The first tryout was held at Acalanes High School in Lafayette. Jeff Perez, whose daughters Kylee and Brianna ended up going to UCLA and becoming great players, of the Sorcerers helped us out. We saw 60 players, invitied some players to summer Jamborees and met wonderful people. It was a fun day and the rest is history.

Fast forward to today, and tryouts have become a staple of our system used to identify players across the country. And as we say at each and every tryout, we have some great stories of players moving on to a Jamboree and making a splash on the recruiting scene. This tryout will not be any different and we enjoyed meeting all of you.

Some of the outstanding performances were turned in by Holly Beeman (2022 P/3B), from Portland, is tall, athletic, and talented. She already gets it up to 60 mph in the circle with a combination of solid spin and command. Jessica Oakland (2022 MI), has a chance to be a major player, with all the offensive and defensive tools coaches are looking for. Maya Mcpherson (2023 MI/OF), has a chance to be a star. While very young and still needing some work, she does so many things so very well there is no doubt that she is going to be a high level recruit if she keeps working. Marissa Fondtain (2021 MI), a talented middle infielder who combines solid defensive play with very good offensive mechanics. Kira Nilson (2021 OF), a smooth outfield prospect with good throwing mechanics and a solid offensive game. Milan Machado-Buckley (2020 Corner), an excellent player who is strong and athletic.

If you were not selected, please don't be discouraged. We want to see you play again and we will be out scouting games during the spring and summer. Please keep us updated on your tournament and game schedules and email them to info@ondecksoftball.net

Please remember that the ODM numbers, while growing increasingly important, are only a snapshot of a player’s evaluation and potential. They are also just a portion of the Tryout selection process, for more information read Your Tryout & ODM Numbers. Use these numbers as a tool and work at developing your athleticism, but constantly work on improving and refining your softball skill set – both offensively and defensively.

These numbers have also been posted to your profile. An Allister Index is not given with Tryout ODM numbers.

Email ODM at kj@odmtesting.com if you have any questions about the ODM Numbers.
