It was great to back in Chicago for this tryout, after missing it in 2020 due to COVID-19. The weather turned out to be perfect. We have so often had to deal with rain and at times had to move it inside. So to be outside on a nice warm day, was awesome. Even if it did get a little hot later in the afternoon.
We want to start off by thanking Bill Judge for his help with this tryout. We also want to thank the players and parents for being there. Some of you drove in from the surrounding areas and some came all the way from Pennsylvania.
We had some good hitters that showed big power and some hitters that are very good base hitters. All of which is needed at the next level. Defensively we had several players that had refined glove skills coupled with big arms.
There were some younger players that we look forward to tracking over the next year or two. This was an opportunity to get on our radar, get your baseline ODM numbers, and see what you can start working on to improve your game.
We want to encourage all players to keep working on their overall skill set. To be a well balanced player, offensively and defensively. And keep working on your speed, strength, and athleticism.
Listed below are the players selected and the invitations they are guaranteed. It is important to know that all players were considered for Jamborees. The Colorado Jamboree and Chicago Jamboree invitations have been sent. The information on Report Camps will be sent August 7th. Please remember that the ODM numbers, while growing increasingly important, are only a snapshot of a player’s evaluation and potential. They are also just a portion of the Tryout selection process, for more information read Your Tryout & ODM Numbers. Use these numbers as a tool and work at developing your athleticism, but constantly work on improving and refining your softball skill set – both offensively and defensively.
These numbers have also been posted to your profile. An Allister Index is not given with Tryout ODM numbers.
