We finished our annual Sacramento Tryout last weekend, and we want to thank all the players and parents who made the trek to Dave Roberts Park on Saturday and Heron Landing Park on Sunday. We had a great time seeing everyone and watching the players workout.
The talent base in Northern California continues to amaze us each and every year. We would encourage college coaches to heavily recruit this area regularly. This weekend, we had several players who should be looked at by every major school in the country. Plus we had a plethora of players who could play for many Division 1 college teams. Add to that a great group of players who would be stars at the D2, D3, NAIA, and JUCO levels, and we had a group that was fun, talented, and eager to compete at the next level.
Thanks go out to Andy Lopez and Abby for their relentless efforts in helping us hold this event. We could never get it done without their selfless contributions. And then thanks to the parents who all put so much into this process with your daughters. It is our most sincere hope that we can help you all in this wonderful and fun-filled journey.
It is important to remember that in all tryouts we are looking for skill sets and athleticism. We do it this way to make sure an athlete can hold her own in the Jamboree or National Camp setting. If the skill sets of the player can hold up under the rigor of an OnDeck workout, and the prospect is athletic enough to match the athleticism of the other players, then we are good to go. It is our feeling that attending coaches will find that athlete intriguing enough to follow and evaluate on their own.
We want to thank all the players and parents who joined us for this tryout. Please keep us updated on your tournament and game schedules and email them to info@ondecksoftball.net
Listed below are the players selected and the invitations they are guaranteed. It is important to know that players were considered for all Jamborees. If you were not selected, keep working on your skill set and athleticism. Do not be discouraged. We want to do what is best for you and help you be successful on the softball field.

Please remember that the ODM numbers, while growing increasingly important, are only a snapshot of a player’s evaluation and potential. They are also just a portion of the Tryout selection process, for more information read Your Tryout & ODM Numbers. Use these numbers as a tool and work at developing your athleticism, but constantly work on improving and refining your softball skill set – both offensively and defensively.
These numbers have also been posted to your profile. An Allister Index is not given with Tryout ODM numbers.
