After five days of rain, we were anxious to get down to San Diego and see the condition of the fields. What we found was a group of 5 hard-working people working for two days to get the fields ready. Scott Berndes, the head of Power Surge, cannot be thanked enough for all his support and work on our behalf. We also have to thank Kristen Gensler and her husband for their incredible work. And we had several laughs on that day because as Kristen was working so hard in the mud and water, we had to reflect on the fact that just a year ago on this weekend she got engaged! What a way to celebrate that anniversary!
The tryout went very well. We had a full house and a nice mix of older and younger players. Some of the top performances were turned in by 2020 Kayla Stanley, a smooth middle infielder and good catcher. 2020 Taylor McCall, is a power hitter with excellent potential to be a run producer at the next level. 2021 Audrey Kull, is a fast and athletic player, with an excellent bat and good hands. 2023 Lillian Taylor, oozes with potential and is going to be a high level recruit if she just keeps working and developing. 2024 McKenna Gieger, has huge potential as a pitcher and a hitter. 2023 Keely Gousha is also a smooth defender and solid hitter, with a great instinct for the game.
We thank all the players and families that made the trek to Hickman Fields. As with all our Tryouts, we want to remind both parents and players that the recruiting process is a journey that unfolds differently for every player. Be patient and let the process work and a good decision will ultimately be made. If you weren't selected, don't be discouraged, we would like to see how you progress and improve. Listed below are the players selected and the invitations they are guaranteed. It is important to know that all players were considered for all Jamborees. The Huntington Beach Jamboree, Rosetta Canyon Jamboree and Colorado Jamboree invitations will go out January 31st and fall events will be assigned and invitations will go out August 5th. They are also just a portion of the Tryout selection process, for more information read Your Tryout & ODM Numbers. Use these numbers as a tool and work at developing your athleticism, but constantly work on improving and refining your softball skill set – both offensively and defensively.

Player evaluations are available for purchase for two weeks after the Tryout ($20/player). Evaluations take about a week to be written and formatted from the date of purchase. All evaluations will be emailed to the address provided. If you are interested in a detailed tryout evaluation:
