We moved from Anaheim up to Encino to workout another group of players. Scott Ludden helped us with fungo and front toss, and Jesse Martinez came thru for us again in the live BP. Again, we really appreciate the help they provided. We were at Encino Franklin Fields for the day. It was our first venture there, and we hope to be back again next year.
We had a nice group of players. Overall they were above average athletically. We had several of the players hit balls over the fence and into the yards of the neighboring houses.
There are some players we have to mention. 2022 Pitcher Madison Lucero is a multi-talented player. She preferred to think of herself as a “pitcher only:’ however, she showed flashes of talent in the infield play and swung the bat pretty well. Pitching showed good velocity combined with command and late break on several of her pitches. She will surely open the eyes of some coaches this summer.
2023 Ella Ludden showed real potential as a pitcher as well. Had good command with some nice movement on her rise and drop/curve. She has a real chance with some hard work over the next several years.
And finally 2023 athlete Carly Raven displayed excellent athleticism with a solid offensive and defensive skill set. As she refines some things, and it all clicks together, she is going to be a good player.
Obviously there were a number of others who excelled as well. And we appreciate all the players and parents who came out for the day.
Listed below are the players selected and the invitations they are guaranteed. It is important to know that all players were considered for Jamborees. The Huntington Beach Jamboree, and Colorado Jamboree invitations will be sent May 21st. The invitations for the Fall Jamborees and Report Camps will be sent August 7th. Please remember that the ODM numbers, while growing increasingly important, are only a snapshot of a player’s evaluation and potential. They are also just a portion of the Tryout selection process, for more information read Your Tryout & ODM Numbers. Use these numbers as a tool and work at developing your athleticism, but constantly work on improving and refining your softball skill set – both offensively and defensively.
These numbers have also been posted to your profile. An Allister Index is not given with Tryout ODM numbers.
