Held at Heron Landing park in Rancho Cordova, the Sacramento Tryout has always produced a great group of players. Northern California is a hot bed of softball and it consistently turns out high level college players.
We want to thank Keith Frey and Andy Lopez for their help with this tryout. Keith is one of our go-to people for throwing BP. He is remarkably consistent and just a pleasure to work with. Andy is great and always upbeat. He coaches at American River Community College, and his fungo skills are very good.
As for the players, there are several performances we would like to recognize. 2023 1B Makenzie Stenson is very solid athletically and has a high skill set both offensively and defensively. 2024 P/UT Olivia Bauer has a beautiful swing from the left side, and is a very versatile defender. She is also a solid pitcher, and it will be interesting to follow her progress in the year to come. 2025 MI Savanna Newman is an athletic, high motor player who has a bright future in the sport if she can just keep working on refining her skill sets. She is so active and energetic, and will most certainly catch the eyes of many coaches this summer. 2026 Chloe Preuss is a tall athletic MI who has a chance to be one of Northern California’s best players very soon. And finally, 2027 infielder Aaliyah Mosqueda shows real promise for one so young. We will be excited to see her develop in the years ahead.

The Rosetta Canyon Jamboree and Colorado Jamboree invitations have been sent. The Fall Jamboree invitations will be sent July 8th. Please remember that the ODM numbers, while growing increasingly important, are only a snapshot of a player’s evaluation and potential. They are also just a portion of the Tryout selection process, for more information read Your Tryout & ODM Numbers. Use these numbers as a tool and work at developing your athleticism, but constantly work on improving and refining your softball skill set – both offensively and defensively.
These numbers have also been posted to your profile. An Allister Index is not given with Tryout ODM numbers.
Player evaluations are available for purchase for the next two weeks ($35/player). Evaluations take 10 business days to be written, formatted and posted from the date of purchase. Evaluations are posted to the player's profile, but only viewable by the player when logged in.
