An absolutely gorgeous, long day that was well worth it and the level of play was pretty high. It was proof positive of what we have been telling college coaches for the past decade. Northern California has exceedingly good talent. Think about it . . . Jessica Oakland (Minnesota), Megan Grant (UCLA), Jenissa Conway (Michigan), Olivia Dinardo (Arizona), Dakota Kennedy (Arizona), Randi Roelling (Cal), Taryn Kern (Stanford) and countless others . . . all came from NorCal in the last two years and became major college players. It truly is amazing.
There are a few players we would like to mention here. 2026 Leilani Terrazas (SS) and 2027 Arianna Velasco (SS) put on a show both offensively and defensively. Arianna has all the tools and will surely be a major recruit in the next few years. Along with Leilani in the 2026 class, Giselle De Casas (MI) was just legit. 2027 C/UT Mallory Wagner was impressive. A high energy player can swing it and defend. She is not only an excellent catching prospect, but she would be a high major prospect as a middle infielder as well. We will be excited to see her develop in the years ahead. 2027 Mia Wong (SS) excelled throughout the day. Mia is smooth defensively and has a great upside as a hitter. And finally, two 2028s really stood out. Eliana Snobar (P/MI) and Gabby Jones (C/3B) displayed a sophistication in their fundamentals that is refreshing to see. There were other excellent performances on the day, too many to mention. We will be excited to see so many of you develop your games and athleticism in the years ahead.
We want to thank all the players and parents who joined us for this tryout. Please keep us updated on your tournament and game schedules and email them to info@ondecksoftball.net
We want to thank Charlie Pikas (Mojo) for all his help in making this Tracy Tryout such a great event. A heartfelt thank you to Andy Lopez for throwing front toss and hitting fungo, all day. Andy is a great guy and we always love having him part of our events. Finally we want to thank Rhoda Horn for coming out to talk with the parents. Her service, Recruiting by Rhoda is such a great resource for players, families, and teams.
And of course we want to thank all our friends in NorCal who have helped us so much over the years. Please remember that the ODM numbers, while growing increasingly important, are only a snapshot of a player’s evaluation and potential. They are also just a portion of the Tryout selection process, for more information read Your Tryout & ODM Numbers. Use these numbers as a tool and work at developing your athleticism, but constantly work on improving and refining your softball skill set – both offensively and defensively.
These numbers are also pposted to your profile. An Allister Index is not given with Tryout ODM numbers. For questions about the ODM Numnbers, email kj@odmtesting.com.
